Last spring, the ACEC California (formerly CELSOC), San Diego Chapter held its ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM for junior- and senior-level college students majoring in engineering (electrical, civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and mechanical), land surveying and construction management. Through this program, the Chapter awarded cash scholarships to students who demonstrated the greatest understanding of the consulting engineering/surveying profession and how the consulting engineer can help create a better California. Applicants were also evaluated on their work experience and transcripts.
Following is the list of 2008 Scholarship Award Recipients:
- Christopher Doran – Class of 2010, UCSD (Electrical Engineering)
- Eugene Ovruchesky – Class of 2009, SDSU (Civil Engineering)
- David R. Ponce-Dick – Class of 2011, CSU Fresno (Civil Engineering)
- Sandra Sandoval – Class of 2009, SDSU (Environmental Engineering)
- Marcus Schaffer – Class of 2010, SDSU (Electrical Engineering)
- Scott D. Wieser – Class of 2009, SDSU (Civil Engineering)
